Job Description

In Human Resources, the Survey Project Analyst provides timely, reliable, objective, and actionable research-based associate insights and recommendations to managers throughout Publix to support decision making and action planning. This includes identifying and applying survey best practices to design and manage quantitative and qualitative associate surveys. The Survey Project Analyst reports to the Manager of Survey.
Additional responsibilities include:

  • serving as Survey Project Lead, responsible for developing, administering, and managing large and small scale surveys of associate opinions; this incumbent will average five (5) projects at any given time
  • Serve as the single point of contact for the survey sponsor and survey participants
  • learning and integrating new survey methods, tools, processes, and statistical procedures in order to improve the Survey Analyst function

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Human Resources, Marketing Research or other analytical discipline
  • at least two (2) years of experience analyzing data using SPSS or other statistical software (such as Minitab, SAS, StatPac)
  • consulting skills in order to advise, guide, and influence survey sponsor, business area leaders, and other project team members in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • knowledge of surveying techniques and methodology
  • knowledge of electronic, paper, and other modalities used for the facilitation of survey instruments
  • working knowledge of the Internet search techniques
  • extensive working knowledge of analytical and statistical methods beyond basic descriptive statistics such as mean, medium, mode, and frequencies
  • some generalist HR knowledge (such as safety, benefits, attributes of turnover, on-boarding process, levels of training)
  • high degree of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with management and executive level associates
  • ability to formulate and pose insightful probing questions into business situations
  • ability to identify latent variables and their impact on and assumption of survey results
  • ability to work independently with little supervision and receive a high level of delegation
