Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, making, inventory management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build a robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the right customer, at the place, at the right time.
Reporting to Senior Specialist Logistics, the Shipping Specialist will provide support to the site for all outbound shipments. He / She will work with warehouse operations to effectively and safely ship product to both external and internal customers. Ensures all operations are conducted in accordance with all cGMPs, OSHA, EPA, DOT, IATA and other governing guidelines. Position will participate in cross-functional team for improving site processes as they relate to shipping and inventory controls.
Position Responsibilities:
- Holds safety in high regard, follows all safety rules for general warehouse operations. Takes responsibility for their own safety by acting in a safe manner at all times. Takes responsibility for the safety of co-workers by calling out unsafe behavior on the spot.
- Completes work independently; receives general guidance on tasks
- Working with cross functional team to make certain all shipments ready prior to ship OTiF
- Works with warehouse operations to overpack shipments for transport
- Ensures inventory is accurately tracked for shipment completion
- Schedules shipments with Ground, Air and Ocean transportation carriers
- Prepares small parcel shipments; creating labels and ensuring all documentation is accurate and in order for site personnel
- Provides tracking and/Proof of Delivery receipts as requested
- Works closely with external waste vendors for shipments, ensure all documents and labeling are accurate per state/federal guidelines
- Stays current with and evaluates new business opportunities, technology, and best practices/benchmarking (both internal and external) from an operating perspective. Makes recommendations to incorporate these opportunities where applicable and manages/sponsors the implementation of these opportunities.
Education Minimum Requirement:
- B.S./B.A. Degree (Business, Science, Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent work/military experience
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 2+ years in logistics or inventory experience
- Computer skills using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) and operation of other peripheral devices
- Technical problem solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communications, organizational/follow-up/control and leadership/employee development/teamwork skills are essential
- Ability to handle and prioritize a large number of projects simultaneous
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- DOT and/or IATA certification
- Familiar with EPA waste management regulations
