Your Opportunity:

Charles Schwab Investment Advisory (CSIA) is a separately registered investment advisor and an affiliate of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (CS&Co). In addition to our money management activities such as Schwab Intelligent Portfolios, we lead all aspects of the selection of investments and ongoing monitoring of the Mutual Fund OneSource Select List®, Managed Account Select®, and produce market commentary, and other investment advice for our clients and financial consultants. We are published in respected business and academic journals and frequently cited by the media on investment topics! CSIA is distinguished by our ability to effectively combine both meticulous quantitative work as well as manager profiling and market analysis in their research and portfolio management. The Managing Director of AI Research is responsible for leading our efforts in Alternatives research.

What you are good at:

In this role, we encourage you to act as a subject matter authority in the evaluation of alternative investment products while providing Schwab’s point of view and being the internal and external voice for AI research at Schwab. We also ask that you build and lead procedures for the AI research process and ensure that the research team implements and adheres to those protocols. Additional responsibilities may include the following:

Hiring and developing a team of analysts and senior analysts for alternative investment research
Collaborating with the broader investment due diligence and operational due diligence research teams under the Head of Investment Manager Research
Building positive relationships with internal business partners on the AI platform and representing the research perspective in meetings and conversations with those partners

What you have:

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience (7+ years) in alternative investments with broad knowledge of the AI industry and deep understanding of characteristics of different alternative investment vehicles. CFA and/or CAIA designations are strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree is preferred.
