Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Director, Payer & Channel Access Marketing, will have the opportunity to change the lives of appropriate patients by leading the development and growth of the Payer Gene Therapy Platform within the Pfizer portfolio. This position is critical in developing the US Access Strategy for Gene Therapy. Gene Therapy is very different than any other therapy the pharma/biotech space has ever introduced into the market. As such, this critical position will be responsible for leading, creating and managing new market models, innovative payer collaborations and new capabilities within Pfizer. This position will be closely aligned with the US New Products lead in driving organizational preparedness across the PCA & PHI organizations, including, PAM teams, HEOR/RWE, Trade, distribution, etc. The expectation is that a solid access strategy (with proposed partnerships) is ready for activation no less than 1 year from product launch. This position is part of the U.S. Payer and Channel Access (PCA) organization and will be closely aligned to the Rare Disease North America Commercial team. This role reports to the Senior Director/Team Lead, PCA Marketing.
This individual will provide continued support through the launch and growth phase by leading a Matrix Team responsible for executing the payer access plan across all key Pfizer functions.
This role will work with a cross-functional team to leverage insights in the development of a compelling payer value proposition that ensures access for appropriate patients.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development of the Payer Access Strategy which maximizes appropriate access for the Gene Therapy Portfolio
- Partner with the US New Products lead to ensure all partners and sub-teams are aligned to the strategy and working on building solutions
- Bring new and innovative strategies to the team for evaluation & execution. These include go-to-market strategies, financial/affordability plans, payer partnerships and 3rd party partnerships where appropriate
- Lead the US Pricing Approval for our various Gene Therapy Products
- Partner with the contracting team to bring new and innovative value based contracting strategies to the market for Gene Therapy
- Develop the strategies, tactics and execution of the annual Operating and tactical plan
- Lead the Matrix team responsible for executing the payer plan
- Develop a compelling value story to payers to be launched no less than 1 year from approval
- Develop and gain necessary approvals for tools and resources that effectively communicate the payer value story
- Collaborate with Patient & Health Impact colleagues, Brand Team, Medical, and other Pfizer stakeholders to establish evidence generation priorities in support of payer value messages
- Develop and align key strategies and initiatives with key internal stakeholders, including Senior Leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in business or healthcare related course of study
- 10 years of combined experience in the U.S. pharmaceutical/healthcare market required
- Pharmaceutical marketing background with payer marketing experience preferred
- Pharmaceutical launch experience desired
- Marketing and market access experience with orphan medicines preferred
- Experience with Top 20 US Payer organizations preferred.
- Pharmaceutical business leadership, including experience in strategy development required
- Prior success delivering results and experience collaborating across multiple stakeholders to drive results required
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategy that links to executable tactics required
- Able to effectively lead and influence in a matrix team environment where there is not a direct reporting relationship
- Track record demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills; outstanding writing and presentation skills
- Strategic mindset, analytical thinking, interpersonal skills, leadership skills, financial/quantitative skills, and innovative thinking
- Ability to work under pressure, to take accountability for business challenges, think strategically and tackle complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to generate customer insights and utilize those insights to develop a compelling value proposition that is effectively communicated to customers
