Position Specific Description

By developing and writing clear and effective high-level communications for a variety of external and internal channels, the successful candidate will help share FPL’s story of providing the nation’s most reliable electric service with typical bills that are approximately 30% lower than the national average.

You will handle projects from concept and development through to successful completion on time, on budget and as measured by achievement of metrics. You will be responsible for making significant contributions to the issues management and strategic communication support of critical company business units and corporate initiatives. You will work with a high degree of initiative and independence. Specific responsibilities include strategic communication planning; message development; writing; using research and analytics to drive planning; and strong project management. You will interface with business unit and corporate leadership and business process owners, as well as externally (camera-facing) with the media.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for assisting with projects from the earliest stages of concept and development through to successful, on-time completion as measured by achievement of metrics. Employees in this role provide support in developing and executing communication plans and initiatives to support business objectives. Individuals in this position are expected to understand client needs and help to develop communication solutions.
